El 7 de octubre de 1985, Puerto Rico conoció lo que fue la Comunidad Mameyes en Ponce. Un enorme deslizamiento de terrenos destruyó gran parte de dicha comunidad y enterró vivos a un sinnúmero de personas. En el lugar se construyó un monumento. Pero ha sido abandonado, vandalizado y profanado, a pesar de que es el camposanto donde reposan aquellos cuyos restos no pudieron ser rescatados.¿Qué era Mameyes? ¿Cómo vivían los residentes? ¿Cómo y por qué ocurrió la tragedia?En este libro se contestarán estas preguntas y a la vez recordaremos a la gente que vivió en Mameyes.
