Fast immer m}ssen die Rechnersystemef{hig sein, auf spontane {u~ere Ereignisse schnell zu reagieren oder evtl. gleichzeitig komplizierte zeitliche Steuerungsvorhaben einhalten zu k|nnen. Dieses "Echtzeitverhalten" ist zentrales Thema dieses Tagungsbandes. Dabei werden sowohl theoretische Aspekte, Methoden des Software-Engineering,technische Realisierungen als auch praktische Anwendungserfahrungen der Echtzeitprogrammierung behandelt. ]bersichtsvortr{ge ausl{ndischer Wissenschaftler wurden ganz besonders der Frage gewidmet, ob Erkenntnisse aus der internationalen Forschung neue Impulse f}r die nationalen L|sungsans{tze, etwa im PEARL-Umfeld, liefern k|nnen. Insgesamt wird dieser Sammelband dem Leser eine Aktualisierung seines Kenntnisstandes bez}glich der Echtzeitsysteme erm|glichen.
