El autor de este estudio, dentro del marco de la metafísica tomista, propone una solución para seguir manteniendo el estatuto de persona al alma, separada del cuerpo, así como una explicación de por qué Santo Tomás niega que el alma sea persona en la Escatología intermedia. Una solución que hará uso de la distinción entre el orden trascendental y el orden predicamental del ser.
