Die Akustik ist ein hochentwickelter Fachbereich der Ingenieurskunst, welcher sich allerdings - gut begründet - hauptsächlich mit Dauerschall befasst. Aus beruflicher Notwendigkeit habe ich es unternommen, mir ausgehend von den theoretischen Grundlagen eine Akustik des Impulsschalls zu erarbeiten, um zu erkennen, welche Konzepte der gängigen Akustik dazu anwendbar sind und welche nicht. Diese theoretische Aufarbeitung mag dem praktizierenden Akustiker nicht viel bringen, sie dürfte aber manchem Maschineningenieur mit seinen Kenntnissen von Thermo- und Fluiddynamik den Einstieg in die Akustik erleichtern.
