Because of the high stress of this job, dispatchers and emergency service personnel can turn to food for comfort, along with having each other to talk out our stressful calls. My book includes stories and recipes from real 911 dispatchers with some bonus stories of a retired police officer and retired firefighter. Communication centers across the country operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Dispatchers stand ready to receive calls from citizens, visitors, and anyone needing some form of assistance.
