Und es beginnt, die Welt außerhalb des Netzes nachhaltig zu beeinflussen, ja zu verändern. Die technologischen Entwicklungen haben zu einem gesellschaftlichen Wandel geführt und das allgemeineLernverhalten verändert. In heutiger Zeit rückt das Lernen ins Zentrum des menschlichen Lebens und beschränkt sich nicht mehr auf wenige Jahre in der Schule oder Ausbildung, sondern wird zu einem lebenslangen Prozess. Ein Teil dieses Wandels lässt sich mit Hilfe des Buzzwortes „Web 2.0" erklären. Die damit verbundenen Veränderungen der Internet-Nutzungsgewohnheiten und die Anwendung dieser auf den Bildungsbereich machten E-Learning zu E-Learning 2.0. Intention dieser Arbeit ist es diese Entwicklung, wie Web 2.0 das Lernen in der heutigen Gesellschaft verändert hat, anhand dem Beispiel des Personal Learning Environment darzustellen und zu erläutern.
