María Elena Blanco (La Habana, 1947) ha publicado los ensayos de Asedios al texto literario (1999) y varios volúmenes de poesía, entre ellos Posesión por pérdida (1990), Alquímica memoria (2001), Mitologuías (2001), danubiomediterráneo / mittelmeerdonau (2005), El amor incontable (2008), Havanity / Habanidad (2010) y Sobresalto al vacío (2015). Cursó estudios en New York University, Université de Paris-Sorbonne y la École Pratique des Hautes Études. Ha sido profesora e investigadora universitaria y desde 1983 es traductora de las Naciones Unidas.
