Hierzu wurde ein Korpus aus Zeitungsartikeln bestimmt, das nach verschiedenen Kriterien untersucht wird. Dies geschieht in Form einer Diskursanalyse nach dem Modell der so genannten Düsseldorfer Schule. Die zentrale Frage, die dabei beantwortet werden soll, lautet: Welches Afrika-Bild zeigt sich in der Berichterstattung deutscher Tageszeitungen zum Völkermord in Ruanda?
