Con [19] Epistole Politiche (2009) entriamo in una atmosfera ancora diversa dalle precedenti. Porena abbandona qui la veste del narratore distaccato e adopera quella personale, privata della narrazione in prima persona. Le epistole, per definizione testi privati, sono qui concepiti al contrario per il pubblico, e da questa contraddizione tra pubblico e privato scaturisce la forte spinta politica dell'opera. Porena si concentra, qui come in altre opere delle IIMM, su due problemi principali: in ambito sociale, sullo scontro culturale, identificato come conseguenza inevitabile della 'culturalità'; in ambito fisico e ambientale, sull'incompatibilità del nostro modello sociale e produttivo con l'ecosistema, già manifestamente compromesso.
