Worm Looks for Lunch

Collins Big Cat is a guided reading series for ages 4--7 edited by Cliff Moon. Top children's authors and illustrators have created fiction and non-fiction books that your children will love to read, banded to help you choose the right book for every child. Practical teaching notes are included at the back of each book. Worm is fed up with earth for lunch and wants something more exciting. He tries rabbit's lunch, deer's lunch and beetle's lunch - and almost becomes lunch himself when a hungry bird appears! Julia Donaldson, renowned author of, among other books, The Gruffalo, has specially written this delightful playscript for early readers to act out and enjoy reading. Each scene is beautifully illustrated, while a final illustrated double page spread shows children how to put on the play by listing what they need and showing them some suggestions for costumes. Green (Band 5) books offer early readers patterned language and varied characters.
