Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Heilpädagogik, Sonderpädagogik, Note: 1,3, Universität Koblenz-Landau (Sonderpädagogik), Veranstaltung: Bedingungen und Behinderungen kognitiver Entwicklung, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Forschungsergebnisse und Diskussionsbeiträge, die bis heute weltweit aus biologischer, medizinischer, psychologischer und erziehungswissenschaftlicher Sicht zum Thema Autismus erschienen sind, kann man kaum mehr überschauen. Darüber hinaus existiert nach wie vor keine eindeutige Definition des Autismus, weder in der Terminologie, noch in der Diagnostik, Ätiologie oder Therapie. Ätiologisch betrachtet kann Autismus chemische, biochemische, genetische, psychologische und psychoanalytische Ursachen haben. Andere Verursachungstheorien betrachten Autismus als Informations- und Wahrnehmungsverarbeitungsstörung, als hirnorganisch verursacht oder im Zusammenhang mit anderen Erkrankungen. Im Zentrum meiner Arbeit stehen Erklärungsansätze, die von Informations- und Wahrnehmungsstörungen als Ursache des Autismus ausgehen. Aufgrund der Vielzahl von Theorien auch in diesem Bereich kann ich nur einen Überblick über die wichtigsten Beiträge geben. Zunächst gehe ich jedoch auf allgemeine Aspekte der Wahrnehmung von Menschen mit Autismus ein. Die Thematisierung der einzelnen Sinne im ersten Teil der Arbeit dient als Basis für die nachfolgenden Erklärungsansätze zu Informations- und Wahrnehmungsverarbeitungs-störungen bei Menschen mit Autismus. Besondere Beachtung finden Delacatos Förderkonzept und die Sensorische Integration nach Ayres, da sie als Ausgangspunkt für zahlreiche Hypothesen dienen.
