Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2006 im Fachbereich Filmwissenschaft, Note: 1,7, Universität zu Köln (Institut für Theater-, Film- und Fernsehwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Aufbaukurs Film, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Der Schwerpunkt der Arbeit liegt auf der Frage, welchen Einfluss Hollywood auf amerikanische Politik, aber auch Politiker hatte und vice versa. Im Fokus liegt besonders das Teilgebiet der Election oder Electoral Films. Um die theoretischen Erkenntnisse teilweise zu überprüfen, werden die Ausführungen auf vier Ausschnitte aus dem Film ´Primary Colors` von Mike Nichols angewandt. Es soll untersucht werden, wie der US-amerikanische Präsident Bill Clinton im Film charakterisiert wird und in wieweit Clintons eigene Interessen mit der Verfilmung verfolgt werden. Das abschließende Fazit soll die gewonnen Erkenntnisse noch einmal zu einem Minimum bündeln und den Einfluss Hollywoods auf US-Politik bewerten.
