Nombreux sont les pratiquants d'arts martiaux qui ont parcouru le Gorin no sho (Écrit sur les cinq éléments), l'œuvre majeure de Miyamoto Musashi (1582-1645). Malheureusement, ce texte est aussi intéressant qu'hermétique. Sa seule lecture ne permet pas d'appréhender la philosophie et les concepts stratégiques du célèbre samouraï. En traduisant et en commentant le Heihô sanjûgo kajô (Trente-cinq articles sur la stratégie), les auteurs poursuivent deux objectifs. Tout d'abord, ils veulent offrir la première traduction intégrale de ce texte en français. Ensuite, grâce aux très nombreux commentaires qui accompagnent cette édition, ils espèrent fournir un outil permettant de mieux comprendre la pensée de Musashi et favoriser ainsi une meilleure compréhension du Gorin no sho.
