Tourism in Peripheral Areas : Case Studies

A collection of case studies of tourism in a variety of peripheral regions in Europe. Empirical data are used to illustrate the threats and opportunities presented by tourism in these areas, to trace its evolution there over time, and to suggest tools for implementing it in ways that are environmentally and socially acceptable.
