When Kate was growing up as a teenager in the countryside, she did not think that she could be a victim of rape; she was a sociable and outgoing person, and rape is a criminal offence in any part of the world. In a developed country like England, one would expect a rapist to face criminal charges and imprisonment. In an ideal world, some people can forget something terrible that happened to them and move on with their life.
