All is well in his life until he receives a terminal diagnosis from his doctor. It becomes an interesting sideline in the book as a friend of his is enlisted to surprise friends with some of his cars after Willie's death. The book introduces an interesting array of characters that Willie has known in his lifetime along with many that he will "encounter" after his death. Willie was always concerned that his life did not make enough of a positive impact on the lives of others. He was also concerned that he did not have time to restore his estranged relationship with his children. Miraculously his afterlife voyage manages to do both.
