The U.S. Army has invaded the Japanese-occupied Philippine Islands, and on their heels are the Marines. Right away, Sergeant James Hawk is assigned to a division recapturing the Philippines from the Japanese. But as an inter-service rivalry develops, Hawk finds himself smack in the middle.
As the Marines are driven from the town of Liloila, Hawk meets an American girl-who becomes stranded there. Against direct orders, Hawk's unit launches an ill-fated attack on the town, prompting the Army to proclaim him a renegade criminal to be shot on sight!
