In this draconian society, Greta, an idealistic journalist, and her husband, Greg, an ambitious virologist, are about to apply for this right. Due to her viciously competitive nature, her best friend Susan, a savvy charity manager, and her husband, Mike, a computer whiz who never doubts her decisions, immediately follow suit. As the contest unfurls, the two women find themselves caught in a conflict that threatens to destroy their friendship and their marriages.
