Haunted by the legend of Shadow Foot for over a century, Sleepers Forest was known for having the man beast cause intruders to fall asleep there. Giant footprints appear today at the forest creek. It is forbidden to twelve-year-old Tealy Landers and her parents warned her never to go there. After her two, older sisters died in front of the forest seven years ago, her parents refused to discuss the forest and the legend with Tealy. Behind her house, below the edge of Cliffside Woods at the bottom of the cliff, Sleepers Forest waits. Tealy promised she would not go there, but Palco is her pet hawk and now her father let him go in Cliffside Woods. Tealy wants him back. Will she find Palco before the earthquake?
