I was so sure of myself. I wanted to dig, explore, and find remains of dead kings...And now? I listen to the murmur of the sacred Nile and feel the painful vibrations of my soul... Why did my heart quiver when I contemplated the Sphinx...? Where did the halo of eternity that surrounds these magnificent works come from? Who knows the answer?"
