Little White Buffalo lived her early childhood in a secret valley with her mother, learning the medicine ways that would prepare her to become a medicine woman when she was grown up. Her life is about to change forever when they are asked to move back to the village. The elders had been watching Little White Buffalo play with three stones and motioned for Chief Jumping Cougar to look. They were jumping over each other like frogs. "There is only one thing-she can't be doing magic in the village."Trying to find her place in the village and using her magic to help her didn't work. She ended up with a lot of people afraid of her. It isn't until they go to visit another village, where the Tiskelwah River joins the Kanawha River that she finally finds some friends. With her new friend Flying Eagle, Crazy Bear teaches them the warrior ways. They learn how to shape-shift, create an animal helper and many more spells to defend themselves with. What Little White Buffalo finds out later is that the boy's in Chief Jumping Cougar's village that doesn't like her are not her only enemies.
