There is an old joke that says, in marriage there are three rings. The engagement ring. The wedding ring. And suffering. 

Despite what you might be thinking, my marriage to my ex-husband was not all doom and gloom. There were moments where laughter and love were easily found but unfortunately in the end the good couldn't outweigh the bad. 

As I rolled into the year of my 40th birthday, this book became a way of me exorcising the demons of my past relationship with my ex while in the process of our divorce. It became my lifeline and means to express my observations and frustrations. But I also hoped that it would one day become a source to educate and guide others through the trials and tribulations of life. 

Please understand that despite my choice of action, I do not believe that divorce is the only answer, nor should it be considered lightly. My prayer is that if there is a way and a means for you to repair whatever relationship you are suffering with, that you find it.

But, if you find yourself beating your head against a brick wall that won't move then I present to you "Surviving 40". A field guide for the trenches of divorce and a pathway to spiritual growth & enlightenment. 

I encourage you reader to take my hand, turn the page, and let's start the journey towards light, health, freedom and salvation.
