Within the span of about two weeks, she went from a typical eighth grader, with a bright future in the sport of swimming and the game of life, to a paralyzed, traumatically brain injured, near-death child-the sickest child in the PICU (pediatric intensive care unit). The doctors thought she might have had a stroke...possibly more than one. Stroke changes everything. You will learn about our "good old days" before the strokes-and the way our lives were forever changed thereafter. This is a story unlike any you've heard before. I hope our experiences reach as many people as possible who can relate to portions of this account and learn something from this calamity.Swimmers, parents, teenagers, doctors, friends, animal lovers, teachers and seekers, behold the Christmas miracle that gave us such hope and brought us closer to the Lord through the power of prayer. It took a terrible misfortune for us to get serious about the most important thing. I don't recommend waiting.
