Die Forderung nach einer wissenschaftlichen Fundierung sozialarbeiterischer/sozialpädagogischer Praxis löste bis in die Gegenwart anhaltende Bemühungen zur Bestimmung und Definitionsbildung von Sozialer Arbeit als Wissenschaft aus. Die Fülle der zu diesem Thema diskutierten Publikationen ist kaum mehr zu überblicken. Den Anspruch der Relevanz einer Theorie der Sozialen Arbeit für die Praxis der Sozialen Arbeit soll zumeist eine systematische Reflexion der beruflichen Wirklichkeit erfüllen, mit dem Zweck, daraus methodische Vorgehensweisen für die Praxis abzuleiten und den sozialarbeiterisch/sozialpädagogisch Tätigen eine Grundlage zu schaffen, auf der sie ein spezifisches Professionsverständnis entwickeln können.Kleves zentralen Aspekten einer Sozialen Arbeit in der Postmoderne widmet sich diese Arbeit. Im ersten und zweiten Teil gehe ich der Frage nach, wie Kleve Soziale Arbeit und die Wissenschaft der Sozialen Arbeit definiert und inhaltlich bestimmt.Im dritten Teil gehe ich auf Kleves Wissenschaftssystem ein und lege ich den Hintergrund dar, vor dem Kleves Perspektive einzuordnen und zu verstehen ist.Im vierten Teil schließlich nehme ich eine Einschätzung Kleves Position vor, auch in Hinblick auf deren Relevanz für die (Weiter-)Entwicklung der Wissenschaft der Sozialen Arbeit.
