Sophocles V2

Sophocles V2 is a collection of four plays written by the ancient Greek playwright Sophocles. The plays included in this volume are Ajax, Electra, Trachiniae, and Philoctetes. Ajax tells the story of the great warrior Ajax, who is driven to madness and ultimately suicide after being passed over for a prize he believed he deserved. Electra is a tragedy about a woman seeking revenge for her father's murder. Trachiniae is a play about the wife of Heracles, who unwittingly causes her husband's death. Finally, Philoctetes is a play about a Greek warrior who is abandoned on an island after being bitten by a snake, and who is later sought out for his magical bow. Sophocles is considered one of the greatest playwrights of all time, and his works have had a profound impact on Western literature and drama.
