She Was My Best Man

She Was My Best Man will take the reader on quite the journey. Anthony, the protagonist from Steven Wayne's first novel returns, on his quest for love. In the beginning you are re-introduced to Anthony who suffered Temporary Demolishment at the hands of Lisa, the woman he thought was the love of his life. But Lisa is behind him, or so he thinks. We now find him single again after a failed marriage and he is living the single life and enjoying every moment. But something is missing. Love.

When Anthony opens his heart again and falls for a friend he learns that this love is not lasting. He spirals down a very dark place that causes him to have to reconcile with his past. Why is love so difficult for Anthony? He's a strong Black man who loves passion and romance. He loves being in love. Convinced he's found love again, his excitement quickly turns to pain when he realizes that he's found the one who's not the one. 

Anthony knows love is real. That feeling of joy that fills every part of you and explodes with passion. But where is love for Anthony? One day, in a moment of complete despair, he looks across his office and sees a familiar face. He's reminded of laughter, of hope, of joy, and sadness. She Was My Best Man is filled with plot twists and exotic encounters that Anthony experiences along the way. It makes his quest for love that much more insatiable, yet seemingly impossible to capture. Ultimately, he realizes that love is not elusive.
