Rick Finnegan, a charming yet irresponsible social media star, has hit rock bottom. After a drunken escapade leaves a village café in ruins, he's sentenced to community service in the very village he disrupted: Broclington.


He's sent to Little Village Sanctuary, a haven for injured and neglected animals, run by the tenacious Angela Turner.


Angela does not want Rick in her sanctuary. And when Rick arrives late on his first day, more concerned with his appearance and online followers than with getting his hands dirty, Angela's initial scepticism seems justified.


But whilst Angela might not like Rick, the animals adore him. And the more time Rick spends with the animals, the more he loves them too. As much as Angela hates to admit it, she's starting to realise that beneath Rick's flashy celebrity exterior lies a caring man.


As Angela and Rick become closer, they realise they both have a lot to learn about redemption - and love.
