REALITIES

Realities is a fictional novel about the lives and sometimes crazy escapades of three middle-aged black women. You journey with them as they learn how they deal with their struggles, loves, fears, joys, and pains - their realities. It explores the deep, hidden feelings of the characters, making them raw and exposed to the reader. In a subtle way, Realities touches on the issues with just enough information to make the reader think about - or perhaps possibly relate to - the situation. Realities will touch your soul and make your heart smile. Realities is about that instant in everyone's life when they have to acknowledge their mortality for the first time. It is about reflection, and looking back at our lives, seeing the positives and the negatives, and making the necessary changes. It's about letting go of the past and moving forward. Realities is about friendship. True and lasting friendships that bind and support us through the good, rough and trying times. Realities is about black families. It touches on their customs and beliefs. It's about ancestor worship, and about protecting our children and our commitment and struggle to stay a family under the grip of adversity and poverty. Realities is about love: the love of a man and a woman, the love of a mother for her children, and the love that tears us apart and the love that engulfs us beyond the sexual desire. Realities is about all that and more. In effect, Realities is about the black experience or perhaps, the experiences we all share to some degree, as we journey through this thing called life.
