Insomma sempre più incredibilmente posso vantarmi, in un sol colpo, di aver scritto una space opera e di essere privo di modestia. Rispetto al primo racconto questa storia è ambientata centinaia di anni dopo, quindi i personaggi sono del tutto diversi e anche la storia può essere letta senza nulla sapere dell'antefatto. La storia è ambientata su una remota stazione spaziale dove vivono gli uomini non ancora pronti ad entrare in simbiosi con dei misteriosi alieni. Un piccolo mondo felice. Ma qualcosa va storto. Un libro pieno di azione e colpi di scena.
