En memoria a mi madre María Reyes Armenta Su poema Las once sillas Es inútil querer retener lo que ya no es de uno Aunque siempre una madre nunca olvida El recuerdo desde que en mi vientre los traía Y, ahora de hombres solo Dios sabe por dónde andarán Aunque sé que están bien, si estuvieran mal lo presentiría He pasado mil noches bendiciendo sus hogares Ahora vivo nada más de sus recuerdos Yo le pido a la virgen me haga fuerte Para que nunca demuestre mi tristeza El tiempo pasó, yo no lo sentí Poco a poco me fui quedando sola Es muy triste aceptar la realidad Aquellos tiempos alegres ya se fueron Ya mi casa la siento sola y fría Los cantos y las risas se acabaron Ya mi mesa no tiene regocijo Y las sillas que son once están vacías No quiero que mis hijos se den cuenta De lo mucho que los quiero y los extraño Aunque ellos de mí ya se olvidaron.
