Parkinson ist eine langsam fortschreitende neurologische Erkrankung, die vor allem bestimmte Teile des Gehirns betrifft. Diese Hirnbereiche weisen einen Mangel des Botenstoffs Dopamin auf.Dopamin sorgt dafür, dass bestimmte Informationen von Nervenzelle zu Nervenzelle weitergegeben werden. Wenn es an Dopamin mangelt, wie es bei Parkinson der Fall ist, ist dieser Prozess gestört.Auch andere Teile des Nervensystems sind von der Krankheit betroffen. Parkinson ist mehr als nur eine einzige Krankheit!
