Originally published in 1920 as part of the Cambridge Plain Texts series, this volume contains two funeral orations delivered by renowned French bishop and theologian Jacques-Bénigne Bossuet (1627-1704). The first text was delivered at the funeral of Louis de Bourbon in 1687, and the second was delivered at the funeral of Queen Henriette Maria, widow of Charles I, in 1669. Both orations are presented in the original French and a short editorial introduction is included in English. This book will be of value to anyone with an interest in Bossuet and his oratory.
