It is obvious that there is a hunger for something more than warm weather and a condo on the 5th green. It is fundamentally about personal growth, the development of new and more valued roles and an enabling culture that fosters the creation of new models for retirement.This book analyzes the characteristics and motivations of seniors who are attracted to such communities; the attributes of the environment that motivate and support purposive activities of senior residents and; the role colleges and universities are beginning to play in creating new models for retirement.
