Grizzly bears and black bears, cougars, killer whales, poisonous snakes, vicious tidal changes, and many other situations have nearly claimed his life. If not for an intervention here and there and persistence, the author might not have survived at all to tell these tales. But they are not tall tales, they are true-life experiences drawn from notes the author made both during and shortly after the incidents. In short, this book is a collection of trying times through which the author prevailed against nearly overwhelming odds.
