Benchmarks und Performancevergleiche dienen hierbei als Verständnisbrücke und der besseren Vergleichbarkeit. Zu Beginn dieser Arbeit werden grundlegende Nachhaltigkeitskriterien und für das Verständnis wichtige Definitionen und Begriffe näher betrachtet. Danach werden Merkmale nachhaltiger Fonds dargestellt. Anhand dieser Klassifikationen werden daraufhin Fonds verglichen und Renditechancen ermittelt. Die Welt befindet sich im Wandel. In Zeiten von Hungersnöten, Kinderarbeit und ständig neuen Schlagzeilen zu den Themen Hitzerekorde, Gletscherschmelze oder Dürren, scheint die Diskussion über ethisches und ökologisches Investieren bedeutsamer zu werden. Aufgrund dieser globalen Problemstellungen haben Menschen vermehrt das Bedürfnis, auch ihre Investitionen nachhaltig und sozial verträglich zu gestalten.
