My African Life

An African Safari is truly one of the last adventures left on earth. The modern hunting safari in Africa allows humans to fulfill their innate role as hunters and predators while at the same time taking full responsibility for the future well-being of the wildlife that they hunt. Hunting today is controlled by management plans that promote a system of give and take. Hunters must pay for hunting and licenses and trophy fees; much of this money is used to promote the maintenance and management of the species hunted. Similar systems are used throughout the world in many different countries and in many types of habitat. Africa has intrigued many people throughout history and is still the main destination for many aspiring hunters. This continent contains diverse habitat and many species of animals that exist nowhere else on earth. Hunters still risk their lives for the opportunity to take the largest animals on earth. The ever changing African continent hosts many different human cultures along with the wildlife. The human and animal interaction continues to be a center of conflict and coexistence. The dangerous beauty of Africa continues to call many of us to her forests, deserts and grasslands. A hunting safari in the wilder regions of Africa today is as close to the experiences of the early explorers as most of us will ever get.
