Jörg Mahncke, Oberstufenschüler des Bramfelder Gymnasiums, verdient sich donnerstags bis sonnabends sein Taschengeld als „Pizza-Kurier". An diesem Donnerstag beliefert er einige Kunden im so genannten Nuss- und Obstviertel. Zwei Kunden werden prompt beliefert; nur der Kunde Schumann reagiert nicht auf das Läuten. Vermutlich hat niemand etwas gehört, da Deep Purple aus dem Haus dröhnt. So geht Jörg um das Haus, weil er annimmt, dass die Familie auf der rückwärtigen Terrasse sitzt. Doch niemand ist zu sehen. Jörg ruft mehrmals: „Hallo, Pizza-Service". Schlagartig hört „Fireball" auf: Stille. Vorsichtig geht Jörg ins Haus und stellt den Isolierkoffer auf den Fußboden der Küche. Als er sich wieder aufrichtet, hört er ein zischendes Geräusch ...
