Reggie is playing in his room when suddenly Melvin the Monsterappears, becoming his imagery friend. Reggie has never had afriend as cool as Melvin come to play, especially never one thatis a monster. Melvin tempts Reggie to do some things againstthe rules, and it seems okay for a while until Reggie is left to paythe consequences alone. Reggie soon realizes that if his "friend"isn't helping him do what is right, then he is the wrong kind of friend tohave. Reggie decides to obey the rules and chooses to not be friendswith Melvin. However, Melvin tries to entice Reggie to change his mind.Reggie stays fi rm in his conviction to choose right; soon Melvin shrinksand is gone for good. Reggie is proud for doing the right thing.
