Max Sturm, wie seine beiden besten Freunde ein Enddreißiger, ist Autor und hat eine ausgeprägte Schwäche für ältere Frauen. Seine Zielgruppe ist die Anfang bis Ende-Fünfzigjährige mit Gewichtsproblemen. Da ist er eigen und lässt nicht mit sich verhandeln.Mickey hat, wie sein Spitzname bereits zu vermitteln versucht, ein nicht weniger ausgefallenes Hobby. Für ein gut erhaltenes Sammlerstück eines Mickey Mouse-Comics würde er seine Mutter verkaufen. Nebenbei ist er noch arbeitsloser Schauspieler und freut sich einfach, dass das Leben ein Pony-Hof ist.Tom wiederum, dem Dritten im Bunde, fehlt einfach der Humus, auf dem so eine Haltung emporwachsen könnte. Der ist Musiker und eher der ernste Typ. Allerdings auch erfolglos und arbeitet deshalb für einen Begleit-Service. Soll heißen, er schläft für Geld mit wohlhabenden, meist älteren Damen. Im Gegensatz zu Max gefällt ihm das aber gar nicht. Da kommt ihm gerade recht, dass eines von Max früheren Abenteuern den Löffel abgegeben und den Dreien ein kleines Hotel vermacht hat. Die Freude währt aber nur kurz, denn das Ding ist ein brachliegender Scheißhaufen, der entweder saniert oder plattgemacht werden muss. Jetzt brauchen sie also richtig Kohle und wie sie da rankommen sollen, weiß keiner. Bis Mia, Toms Schwester, mit einem verwegenen Plan auftaucht. Die arbeitet nämlich in einer Bank, genau genommen als Assistentin der Kredit-Abteilungsleiterin. Welche Ende Fünfzig und ziemlich rund ist. Genau die Richtige also für ein Schäferstündchen mit Max. Und wenn der es ihr so richtig besorgt hat, müsste die Dame doch verhandlungsbereit sein, findet Mia. Max findet das aber nicht, denn bis dahin las sich die Liste seiner Dates zwar wie das Who is Who der Herbstzeitlosen, aber bei dem, was er über die Frau weiß, lehnt sogar er dankend ab.
