Marin Vandersee cannot take another second of her overachieving family's disapproval and has escaped to her favorite place on Earth, Revel Pointe, the theme park mecca of the Revel Universe tucked along the Mississippi River just outside New Orleans. With the help of her costume designing, brilliant best friend, she begins work as Rose Red, her favorite Revel princess. Finally where her people are, Marin feels at home, surrounded by other Revelers and her dreamy co-worker, the actor Prince Roland. Marin quickly falls for him, but when she saves Ethan Reve, the interim CEO of Revel Pointe and notorious playboy, from drowning in the lighthouse moat, everything changes, and he offers her the job of her dreams.
Ethan Reve also ran from his family and Revel Pointe years ago, but a tragedy means he must take the reins of his family's multi-billion dollar park and entertainment company. To succeed, he needs to manage his grief as well as recuperate his bad-boy image. Drawn to Marin and recognizing her as a die-hard Reveler, Ethan needs her to finish his late brother's passion project, an immersive Island of Sirens experience. However, Ethan's power-hungry step-mother actively sabotages their project and budding relationship at every turn.
Together, Marin and Ethan must learn to trust each other while faking a relationship for the success of the project and their happily-ever-after in a race full of pitfalls to the deadline.
