A team of forty people, retired from service and between the age group of fifty-five to eighty, along with many other people, are conducting annual tours to distant places under the leadership of Ismali Master. This time their destinations are Darjeeling, Sikkim and the neighboring countries, Nepal and Bhutan. They set out from Kodungallur in different modes of transport, see different places of importance and remember the great personalities associated with those places like Rabindranath Tagore, Charu Majumdar, Bimal Mithra, Shashti Brata Chakraborthy, Mamta Banarjee, Rithuparna Gosh, etc. The sunrise in the Tiger Hill, the ice-capped mountains of the Himalayas and the mist in the valleys are much impressive. It is not a pleasure trip, but a trip to meet people in different parts, know their life and culture in close proximity and so many things. These people are trying to keep away the isolation, marginalisation and solitude at the fag end of their lives.
