It has been said that you have to have a gimmick, and the author is hoping that her gimmick is surprise. Therefore, look for little surprises now and then. The book is uplifting, and displays the meaning and value of friendship and familial love. It did not take much to make Lonny laugh, giggle or smile. Despite his trials and tribulations, like Voltaire's Candide, Lonny still believed that it was the best of all possible worlds, and that is how he tried to live it.
