At a large corporation he worked on large aerospace projects. He then shifted his focus to building totally automated manufacturing plants. The fourth plant, a business within the corporation, had lost money for ten years. The new plant manager was told to "Make a Buck" within the next year or the business would be shut down. The plant manager asked the author what he would do to "Make a Buck". When the author's response was carried out, the business was making a buck in 9 months. This launched the author's interest in optimizing the management system of all types and sizes of businesses.
