Alcuni l'hanno definita difficile (specialmente quella dei nostri giorni) addirittura incomprensibile; eppure, ancora oggi la poesia è ricercata, desiderata, coltivata. Mantiene il suo fascino nel tempo per ciò che non dice, ma suggerisce, sussurra e trasmette le emozioni che trovano riscontro nella parte più riposta di noi. La poesia può essere in ognuno, anche in chi la nega o dice di non aver mai letto un verso. Qualcuno ha detto che non ha neppure bisogno delle parole. E in un certo senso è vero, perché è un modo di pensare (e si pensa anche senza parole!). La poesia prima di tutto ha bisogno di idee. Infatti, la trovi anche nei romanzi, nelle nuvole, nei raggi del sole, nelle onde del mare. Insomma, la poesia è un modo di essere, è la capacità di cogliere le sfumature, le piccole cose, perché è l'amore per le piccole cose che fa bella la vita, quello per le grandi a volte la distrugge.
