Karla & Ash
Description
Two broken souls. One life-changing friendship. A love ten years in the making.
When fifteen-year-old Karla East’s world shattered in a car accident that took her mother and left her scarred, she stopped believing in second chances. Drowning in grief and self-loathing, she became invisible—until Ashish Banks saw her. A boy haunted by his own demons, Ash understood darkness in ways no one else could. In cemetery conversations and stolen moments, two broken teenagers found something neither expected: hope. But when tragedy struck again, Ash moved away, and Karla was left with only memories of the boy who once saved her life.
Ten years later, fate intervenes when paramedic Ashish Banks responds to an emergency at Karla’s bookshop. The boy she once knew has become a man still fighting his own battles, and the girl he saved has transformed into a woman who learned to save herself. As they reconnect, old wounds resurface alongside an undeniable pull neither can ignore. Ash is terrified of losing her again, and Karla knows loving someone means risking everything. But some connections transcend time, and some loves are worth every scar. Now they must decide: let fear win, or fight for the love that’s been waiting a decade to come home.
Shipping & Processing

Processing times
- In stock: Items marked “In Stock” are on our shelves. We pick, pack and ship them within 1–2 business days.
- In stock with our supplier: Items not marked “In Stock” are held by one of our Australian or overseas suppliers. We order them in for you and they usually dispatch within 2–5 business days (3–5 for some suppliers). The estimate next to the price is for this item.
- Special orders: Some supplier items, such as specialist and imported items, titles awaiting reprint and print-on-demand titles, take longer to arrive. If your order includes one, we’ll update you as soon as we hear from our supplier.
- Supplier delays: Occasionally a supplier is delayed, or their stock information turns out to be inaccurate. We’ll keep your order open for up to 60 days. If an item hasn’t shipped or isn’t on its way to us by then, we’ll cancel that item and refund it.
How accurate is availability?
Availability is based on the stock levels our suppliers tell us they hold, and we update it regularly. If a supplier issue affects your order, we’ll let you know with an updated estimate.
