Blindfolded in a pajama type attire with a noose hung around his neck, his wedding ring has been removed. Having been 'properly prepared' his conductor leads him to the inner lodge door where with a knock the Worshipful Master calls out, "Who goes there?" His conductor responds, "-----------, who has long been in darkness now seeks the light that our ancient fraternal order can bestow upon him."

He is forbidden to share any of what he has done with his wife or any other non-Mason now referred to as being 'profane.' He swears to have his tongue torn out, his heart torn out, his body severed in twain with his bowels burned to ashes; 'so help me god.'

Doesn't he realize he's saying the light Jesus offered him wasn't the real thing but was dim and fake while embracing Masonry's light? Didn't Jesus say in Matthew 6:24 "No one can serve two masters, either you will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other? You can't serve God and Mammon."
