Sie untersucht neben kanonischen Dramen von Lessing, Lenz, Goethe und Schiller auch weniger bekannte Dramenautorinnen und -autoren wie Friederike Caroline Neuber, Christiane Karoline Schlegel und August von Kotzebue und kommt zu dem Ergebnis, dass die Regiebemerkungen nicht nur im Hinblick auf die Theateraufführung von Belang sind, sondern auch als Text bei der Lektüre wichtige Funktionen erfüllen.
