Protected cultivation is modification of natural environment to achieve optimum plant growth. Due to controlled environmental conditions, it gives manifolds increase in yield per unit area. The protected cultivation has shown high productivity, better quality produce, and early maturity and round the year cultivation in a hostile environment. Though the crops are grown under protected conditions, yet the crops are not protected because of intensive cultivation of crops, optimum use of fertilizers and frequent use of irrigation with high day temperature and relative humidity. These types of ideal conditions under polyhouses increase problem of soil borne pests and diseases including plant parasitic nematodes. Root-knot nematode is a major problem in each cropping system which attack almost all types of crops. Keeping this points in mind, the present study was conducted to find out the "Incidence and host parasite relationship of root- knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid and White) Chitwood in horticultural crops under protected cultivation".
