It is the objective of every functional, ministry-oriented church, to have leaders in place who are ready, willing, and able to direct new Christians and new members into ministry. That is always a beautiful thing, yet, there are many issues to be considered. Far too often, church leaders put people in ministry positions when: people are not certain where they should be working in ministry; people are still healing from emotional injury in their past which would affect their service in the position; people have not developed the proper attitude or temperament for the position; people are not willing to make the necessary sacrifice to be effective in the ministry position; people do not have the necessary experience for the particular ministry position; people do not want to be in the position.
