Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2014 im Fachbereich Politik - Region: Afrika, Note: 2,7, Technische Universität Dresden (Politikwissenschaft), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Mit Afrika verbindet die westliche Bevölkerung nicht unbedingt als erstes Demokratie oder Parlamentarismus, vielmehr einen Kontinent mit unüberschaubaren Konfliktherden, viel Armut und Hunger. Auch mit Blick auf die Geschichte zeigt sich, dass der Westen den afrikanischen Ländern oft nicht sonderlich viel zutraut und sie lieber unter westlicher Kontrolle wüsste. Doch auch Afrika hat eine vielschichtige kulturelle und politische Geschichte und gerade durch die stark differenzierten Regionen sollte dieser Kontinent nicht als gesamt afrikanisches Problem gesehen werden. In dieser Seminararbeit soll es speziell um das Land Ghana gehen, welches, als damals erstes unabhängiges Land Afrikas viel Ansehen erreichte und als ein Positivbeispiel für den afrikanischen Parlamentarismus gesehen werden kann. Der Demokratisierungsprozess Ghanas galt für viele andere afrikanische Staaten als Vorbild, doch gilt es weiterhin als Entwicklungsland und steht auch in Zukunft noch vor einigen Problemen und Aufgaben die gelöst werden müssen.Als erstes soll ein kurzer historischer Abriss der politischen Entwicklung Ghanas gegeben werden, da dieser für die weitere Analyse notwendig sein wird und die politische Entwicklung eng verbunden ist mit der geschichtlichen. Anhand des theoretischen Konzepts des Evolutorischen Institutionalismus soll die institutionelle Struktur Ghanas dargestellt werden. Dabei wird speziell darauf eingegangen, wie der Aufbau des Parlaments aussieht, welche Antriebskräfte vorherrschen und welche Umweltfaktoren und Nischenakteure Einfluss auf die Entwicklung des Parlaments nehmen. Nach der Darstellung der speziellen Parlamentsfunktionen soll versucht werden weitere Handlungsempfehlungen für den ghanaischen Parlamentarismus zu geben.
